Who Are We...

We are the Rock Star Runners of the Southern Oregon are. This all started with a enthusiastic group of runners from Southern Oregon University who claimed the 2nd and 3rd best national finishes during the years of 2004 and 05. Rock Star Runners was founded by JJ Moses who was a 5 year member of the XC and Track / Field team at SOU.  Southern Oregon has never had any kind of elite development for runners who want to keep running competitively after college.

Many people ask us about our name and basically we feel that there is a specific attitude and mind set that a runner must have to push past it all and we like to think that we we have the mentallity of a Rock star when we are racing on a cross country course or the track. Many people mistake us and think that we are represented by the energy dring Rockstar.

We are growing slowly but surely, we have put together team for the mens for Club Cross country Nationals and the womens team is still in the process of forming. One of our hopeful athletes Trevor Palmer aka "Savage" looks to do great things in both cross country and track over the next few years. In 2009 we are looking at getting a sponsorsip to compete in Hood to Coast. During 2007 Southern Oregon produced an elite team organized by Bob Julian jr. which many of the rock star runners were apart of that team placing thrid in the elite division.

A couple things we are doing as an organization is that host two road races throughout the year and have plans of hosting a high school XC invite.

Any time you are visiting the Southern Oregon area drop us a comment and if you are not familar with the area we can definetely take you on some good trail run up past Lithia Park in Ashland.
